Infant monitoring systems

As the family size gets smaller, usually a mother is the only one to spend their days with children. We hear about the accidents of those children while the mother stepped out for chores such as bathroom and washing clothes. In nurseries and daycares one person has to watch several children. This research is to develop a system to watch the children instead of mothers or nursery personnel. We will assume the infants to be in a crib, but we can also extend the surveillance area to about 100cm by 100cm and send out warning if the child escapes from this area.
We can capture both minute movements and larger posture information by 2 solid state image sensors such as CCD cameras like the ones for the senile and the elderly. The system sends out emergency warning or confirmation warning in those cases by judging the motion information by neural networks.
